Understanding the Procedure

What is Ink Camouflage?

Ink Camouflage Tattooing is a cosmetic procedure designed to blend stretch marks, scars, and hypopigmented areas into the surrounding skin by implanting custom-matched pigments.

Using microneedling technology, this technique creates a more even and natural-looking skin tone, offering an effective way to minimise visible skin imperfections.

Core Benefits

What Does It Do?

Conceals Imperfections

Effectively conceals stretch marks and scars using skin tone-matched pigments.

Blends Uneven Areas

Creates a more uniform skin appearance by blending hypopigmented areas.

Improves Texture

Stimulates collagen production through the microneedling process.

The Process

How Does
It Work?

The process begins with a detailed skin assessment to ensure safe and accurate color matching. Pigments are then carefully blended to match your natural tone and implanted into the dermis using a needling machine.

As the skin heals, the pigment settles, and collagen regeneration improves skin texture over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answering your questions about pigment-based restoration.

The process begins with a highly detailed skin assessment. We use a range of medical-grade pigments and custom-blend them on the spot to match your natural undertones. We often perform a small patch test during the consultation to observe how the pigment settles in your specific skin type.

Ink Camouflage is considered semi-permanent to long-term. Because the pigment is implanted into the dermis, it will last for several years. However, as the skin ages and is exposed to the sun, some fading or color shifts may occur, so maintenance touch-ups are recommended every 2–5 years.

No. For safety and optimal results, scars and stretch marks must be fully matured and stable — typically at least 6 months old. They should be white or skin-colored, not red, pink, or purple, as treating active scars can cause further trauma or unpredictable color results.

The pigments themselves do not contain melanin and will not tan. However, because we blend the color to your natural skin tone, the difference between the treated area and tanned skin is usually much less noticeable than it would be without the camouflage.

Initial healing is very quick — usually 1–2 days of light redness and mild swelling. You may experience very fine scabbing, which should be allowed to fall off naturally. The final color result is typically visible after 4–6 weeks once the skin has completely remodeled.

Between Treatments

Sessions are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to allow proper healing, pigment settling, and any necessary adjustments for optimal results.

This timeline ensures your skin fully integrates the pigment and reveals the final color before any enhancement sessions.
